Bike Fab

The forerunner to the Lindy 500 Kinetic Sculpture Project, Bike Fab began as an assignment in Sculpture II. The prompt was to build a rideable two-wheeled vehicle that didn’t resemble a normal bicycle. Students were intrigued, research ensued. A bike rental company donated a pile of junk bikes. The students became avid welders, bike mechanics, and inventors. We held a parade at the end of the year.
