Microcontrollers in rural South Africa

This project consisted of bringing a low-cost electronics lab in two suitcases to a school in Limpopo Province, South Africa, and teaching 120 students and two teachers microcontroller programming.  In developing their own electronic creations, students learned programming and circuit design using the BBC Micro:Bit. A collaboration between Riverdale and Sumbandila.org, the project will continue in years to come, as the lab is integrated into the school’s curriculum.
